On 28/03/17 I assumed I was experiencing network errors, could not make contact with my children. Phoned Vodacom Customer (NOT) Care Dept, 082 911. Was advised my phone was locked by Vodacom as they suspected *****ulant activity on the line, bill estimated at R5K for the month. Requested that the phone be unlocked as I had to attend to a family crisis & was desperate to make contact with my children. The phone was unlocked on 29/04/17 & locked again by 4 pm the afternoon. Phoned Customer (NOT) Care Dept on 30/04/17 to be told that the account has escalated to R7K for the month. A report was logged for investigation, reference number given & I was told that it should be resolved in 7 x working days. Followed up on 05/04/17 to be told that the matter is not resolved, it is still in Q & they will make contact once resolved, not sure how contact will be made as the phone was locked but was assured that Vodacom IT will make contact. Followed up today, 19/04/17 - 3 weeks & counting, to be told the investigation was cancelled as a mail was sent requesting a copy of ID & Affidavit - surprise, surprise, no mail received to date. When asked why the above legal documentation was required, Mpho the Customer (NOT) Care Supervisor was unable to advise & assured me that he will escalate to management at the ***** Dept to contact me at work to explain the necessity of the required documents. Surprise, surprise, NO call to date, call was logged at 9.39 am, held on for over an hour & at 13.07 pm ... no contact from Vodacom. One week away from Vodacom billing me for *****ulant activity on my phone which remains on lock down - no calls, whatsapps, sms'es. WORST SERVICE EVER ... not to mention the frustration in trying to resolve the matter & to have the luxury of being able to actually utilize the mobile number I am paying for, a number I have maintained for almost 15 years, if not longer. I am not too sure how to escalate further because NO ONE at Vodacom can extend themselves to assist a client ... do they even understand the meaning of the word?!?! Vodacom ... should I consider legal action?
