Lock account without informing client

I was travelling in Jordan on business the past 4 days and as a result incurred a bill of R 5561.71. This apparently gives Vodacom the right to lock my account without informing me of what was going to happen. According to them it is also in a contract that I signed that this would happen, but here's the kicker... I did not sign a contract as it was all arranged telephonic ally and was definitely not mentioned to me.
I phoned Vodacom to hear what was going on after the locked my phone on a Friday evening after 8 pm!! And was told that sorry but go pay your account or wait 4 days till Tuesday before they can review the matter on their side as it is now weekend!! Really!!

So now I still have to pay the full amount for a package and not be able to use my minutes, data or sms's that I pay in advance for... Ridiculous!

I will be going into the nearest Vodacom branch tomorrow, settle this balance and then head over to Cell C as their contract buy out option is sounding very very good right now. Looks like they want customers.

Just think if I was still in Jordan and this happened, I would have been left with no way to contact anyone. Nice on you Vodacom
