Lies, lies and more lies

About 11 months ago I contacted vodacom regarding an upgrade on my contract. I requested the Sony Xperia (Waterproof Phone) that I had seen in their pamphlet but after multiple weeks of being told they were waiting for stock they eventually decided to inform me that the phone had been discontinued. I later found out that Vodacom Chats had the phone in stock but by then it was too late. I went into the Vodacom shop to find out what phones they had in stock and the Consultant convinced me on the Huwei P9 lite that was currently on promotion with free screen insurance for 1 year. When I asked how much the excess would be I was told +/- R150.

So you can imagine how relieved I felt when 10 months later I dropped my phone and the screen cracked. I took it in to Vodacom where they booked it in and again I asked how much will the excess be where I was again told +/- R150. I then received two phone calls after that from Vodacom updating me on the progress. The first time they called I asked what the maximum amount that I have to pay in will be and I was told R400. The second phone call they confirmed that I would need to pay R150 and we arranged that I would go in to pay it. I then received a third phone call informing me that it was in fact R1060 PLUS R150 that I would have to pay. They explained that this was for a new phone. When I queried this and asked why they can't just replace the screen as the phone was fine I was told it was because there were no parts. When I told them that I would not pay that money as I was told that the maximum I would have to pay in was R400 they told me that I would then have to wait for parts. My one year free screen insurance is coming to an end soon and I assume that they will then not be able to fix my screen as it will no longer be covered. I feel like I have been conned and **** to since I bought the phone. If not for the screen insurance I would never have bought the phone in the first place as I am a Samsung and Sony fan. So thank you Vodacom for selling me a lie!!!
