Lies and Pathetic Customer Service

In March 2016, I decided to cancel my Vodacom contract prematurely and move to greener pastures. I proceeded to request a cancellation quote which I paid in full. The proof of payment and signed cancellation instruction was sent to the email address provided by Vodacom on the quote. I received a reference number and later, a confirmation that the instruction had been carried out. I then ported my number to a different network.

However, in the months that followed, I continued to receive invoices from Vodacom. The invoices indicated that my account (which was apparently cancelled) was credited with the amount I paid for the premature cancellation. After receiving these invoices for two months, I called Vodacom to enquire about it as I thought it was abnormal since my contract was cancelled. After being passed around to countless people, somebody finally saw that there was an error. They assured me that the matter would be escalated and that they would resolve the issue.

However, I still continued to received the invoices. I decided to call them when my credit is depleted as this implies that I would be debited that month.

In August 2016, my credit was depleted and an amount was due by me. So I called Vodacom to query this, only to find out that the matter was never escalated at all and that there was indeed an amount due by me. The person on the other end could see the payment I made in March 2016 and could see that my number was ported to another network but my account was definetely not cancelled. She assured me that this time somebody would call me within 72 hours. Right...

Now my question to you, Vodacom, is why was my contract not cancelled when I got confirmation that the instruction had been carried out? Why was it not escalated and cancelled after I called you the first time either? Is this your tactic? To milk a customer of money even though they left you?

I am so happy I left Vodacom. The grass trully is greener on the other side, in all aspects. Unfortunately, I just can't seem to shake you off. I am having patehic service even after leaving your network.

If this issue is not resolved, I can assure you that I WILL escalate it. I will take this even further than Hello Peter. I will make sure people are aware of what you are up to.

Dear Vodacom,

It is now 2 September 2016 and noboday has contacted me. And to make things worse, your debit order came off my account. You really are a joke. I will just keep reversing your debit order and make this public. And just dare blacklist me for not paying...
