Lies and Deception

Received a call on the 4th of November 2022 from a sales consultant that informed me that in an effort to hold onto customers, Vodacom is upping their package offerings, offering more data and call time for less than what I am currently paying per month. I explicitly asked if this would increase my monthly bill, and I was assured that my monthly bill would decrease by a couple of hundred rands.

I was not sent any quotation via email after this call.

Upon checking my billing breakdown yesterday on the app, I could see that I am paying R260 more on this 'new' package, which was a RED 2GB 200min. I called Vodacom this morning and had my account reverted to the original, which shows on the previous months billing as RED 500MB 50min. Although the damage is minimal as I spotted this in the first month, the fact is that I was misled.

Vodacom, why are you lying to me over a voice call and deceiving me by giving me misinformation? Your voice calls are all recorded for 'quality purposes', so retrieve mine and listen to it. You told me my monthly bill would decrease. Yet, it increased. You told me that this was an effort to hold onto existing customers, and it was insinuated that the call was more to inform me of this and that I was agreeing to this revised package that would be cheaper per month while giving me more call time and data.

Shame on you. You are ***** and *********, and I hope that others read this so that they can prevent the same happening to them.

Now it's just getting embarrassing, Vodacom. Stop trying to sell me a bigger call and data package through your spam attempts on +27 (10) ***. I haven't received a proper response from you regarding this issue, yet your marketing soldiers on.

When I asked the operator if they knew who they were speaking to, she put the phone down on me. Nice. This call was placed at 09:59 on 23 December 2022.

Keeping it classy I see. Just keep digging that hole.
