***** and cheats
Since December I have been unemployed, meaning that I didn't have the funds to keep my accounts up too date. As it is crucial for me to have a means of receiving calls and emails, I tried my best to keep my Vodacom account up to date. Last month I did not have the funds in my bank account when they requested the debit order, but I paid the required amount immediately thereafter from my other bank account. Still, Vodacom charged me a penalty of R100,80 for the unsuccesssful debit order. When I discovered this and took it up with Vodacom, the consultant lodged a dispute on my behalf and said the penalty will be waived because it was not my fault that there was no money for the debit order. I then also arranged with the same consultant to change my payment method to cash, instead of debit order. This month an unsuccessful debit order again went through and they again penalised me with R100,80!
I would hate to have to contact Vodacom next month should the same thing happen, again. This was not the only disappointment because of Vodacom I had to deal with lately. I also tried to downgrade my package to the original one, last month, without any success. Due to my circumstances, I can do with having to pay less for using my cell phone. Since I do not have a job that requires me to phone as much, I do not require all the airtime and especially the 200 sms's that comes with the current package, but Vodacom wants me to pay R650 to migrate back to my original contract! How preposterous! Then I had to find out yesterday that the person who migrated me to the current package in August last year, ******** me, as I was put on a package that was actually not the best for my situation then!
