LG G4 Known Issue (BootLoop) In-Warranty Repair Issue

So i understand that according to your administrative policies that you may require a proof of purchase to validate a warranty when a phone is brought in for repairs. Why though if it was an upgrade to an old contract or when the device SN/IMEI number indicates it to be less than 2 years old? Besides, you as Vodacom should have ll my details on record seeing that you supp**** it to me!

_________________________________

With that bing said I have an LG G4 that was supp**** by you (Vodacom) upon the upgrade of a contract. I will not leave date spcifics in this post. The phone has been operating fine up until last month. Now it does not boot past the loading screen. After much frustration and research it turns out that this is a "known issue" with the LG device.

Verbatim Quote "LG Electronics has been made aware of a booting issue with the LG G4 smartphone that has now been identified as resulting from a loose contact between components. Customers who are experiencing booting issues with their LG G4s should contact their local carrier from where the G4 was purchased or a nearby LG Service Center (www.lg.com/common) for repair under full warranty.

Customers who purchased their G4 devices from non-carrier retailers should contact an LG Service Center with the understanding that warranty conditions will differ. LG Electronics is committed to providing the highest standards of product quality and customer service and apologizes for the inconvenience caused to some of our customers who initially received incorrect diagnoses."

________________________

I first contacted LG who responded by providing me with the warranty info and instructions to take it to Vodacom. Details received from LG are as follows:

ESN: ********** ********** 6

Model: LGH815P

MSN:509KPAE434136

Suffix: AZAFLB

Chip Type: EG

Product Type: 2

ESN Date (Prod. Date): Sep 22, 2015

ESN Go Date: Sep 23, 2015

Phone Age: 1 Year(s), 2 Month(s), 7 Day(s)

Location Code: N

Network Code: ZAF

Carrier: SOUTH AFRICA

CSN: LG ********** 124339

So when i approached the Vodacom service center in Canal Walk i was told to provide the proof of purchase. I told them that the phone was supp**** on contract and that they should have it on records. Besides it has only been a year or less since the phone was supp****. Besides that, an LG Rep had told me that all they would do is run the IMEI and Serial Number to validate the 2 Year Warranty (after all it was a known issue with the device)....

I will understand if you request a proof of purchase when the factory warrany expires where the device was purchased afterwards. But here we have a case of the phone still being under the factory/manufacturer warranty based on it's age, manufactre date and there is a technical issue with it....

So anyway they scanned the IMEI and Serial Number and can pick up the device and other details i was not privy to. I was then asked to approach the store i got the phone from. I then found out that the store had close down and that all they could do was request it from Head Office. After many calls and agents hanging up on me i gave up...(fyi i am still awaiting feeback regarding this)

Now all i am saying is the following:

I do not have an issue with Vodacom or its services. The facts are simply:

-You supp**** me with a Phone.

-The phone now has a technical issue.

-You can determine based on the SN and other technical information that the device is in warranty.

-Phone was not received after the 2 year (factory warranty period) so request for said POP is irrelavant.

-Warranty is covered by the manufacturer.

-You have my details on record.

WHY THE HELL ARE YOU LETTING ME RUN AROUND FOR THIS ISSUE?

_________________________________

I have worked and still continue to work in a technical services industry and NOT ONCE have we requested a customer to provide a POP when SN indicates factory warranty is still valid.

WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT THE TILL SLIP TO PROVE?

_________________________________

Not having this phone operating is placing me at a serious disadvantage as it was my sole source of communication.

I would like this issue resolved before i pursue legal actions as you are breaching the terms of the warranty agreement.

________________________________

I do not want anyone to request any documentation from me. All i want to do is take it to the Vodacom Repair Center in Cape Town (Canal Walk) and someone has to fix it. Create the exception if you have to. Stop asking questions and giving me advice that does not reduce customer effort.
