Left in the Dark

I have had a really disgusting experience with Vodacom after 17 years of being a client, and no one is willing to take responsibility or help me.

I spent most of my day phoning different departments of Vodacom and made no headway at all.

I received a notification that my contract was due for an upgrade. Nowhere in this message did it state that it was 2 months early.

I phoned the upgrade department and spoke to Luyana who assisted me with the upgrade, once again there was no mention that it was 2 months early.

Luyana assured me that my monthly contribution would be a total of R909.00. I was very happy with that amount as it falls within my very tight budget.

My iphone was ****** in December so I have had to rent a phone until my upgrade became available. Immediately after to speaking to Luyana I called the rental company to say that I would return the phone to them on Monday.

A little while later I received the quote via email that had 2 hand held instalment amounts.

The new handheld instalment amount of R630.00 as well as a second handheld instalment of R559.00.

Putting my monthly instalment at a total of R1468.00 instead of R909.00.

When I phoned to query this additional handheld instalment I was then, and only then, told that I had 2 months remaining on my previous contact.

Had I known that that was the case I would not have upgraded until August!

But now I am backed into a corner as I am returning the rental phone on Monday and I can’t cancel the upgrade unless I want to go without a phone for 2 months.

This is ridiculous!

This is a new procedure, the last time I upgraded this did not happen.

I am now forced to pay an additional R559.00 per month, that I cannot afford, because not one of your staff members had the capacity to advise me that I had 2 months left on my previous contract.

I am really upset and need this resolved asap, or I will take it ****her.

I urge you to pull up my recorded phone call and confirm what I am telling you.

I am also happy to send you the sms stating that I am due for an upgrade with no mention of the old contract.
