Learn from me. Don't waste your time and money on Vodacom.

After being convinced by Vodacom to upgrade my data contract in Nov 2023, rather than cancel, I have wasted hours and thousands of Rands trying to fix the mess that they've created. . Despite assurances that my 4 extra data sharing SIM cards wouldn't be affected, they stopped working shortly after the upgrade. Numerous calls to customer care, Mondo and the upgrade line (to try to resolve the issues) only resulted in unfulfilled promises and delays. Forced to seek alternatives, I incurred additional expenses setting up a new contract with Telkom. My most recent escalation (there were several) was raised by Elton (customer care agent) on February 7, 2024, who (like all the others) promised to call me back on February 14, 2024 to provide feedback, but I'm still waiting for the call. I emailed *** on 7 Feb 2024 with all of this detail, but to date, nobody has contacted me regarding my complaint. I have now been paying for a contract for nearly 4 months that does NOT provide me with what I was promised. Vodacom continues to waste my money and my time. To add insult to injury, I recently received an email from Vodacom stating that my contract costs will increase in due course due to their own rising costs.

Thank you. At least now I have a reply from you (unlike when you send an email to Customer Care). I'll believe it when it happens, though. Since I logged my issues with Vodacom in December 2024, I've had no less than 5 people promise to call me.

Vodacom team

  1. I have been in meetings on the 2 occasions that I think you've tried to call and have had no way to know how to call back to speak to the relevant person trying to call me.
  2. I refuse to call 082135 and go through everything that I have been through all over again because Vodacom wants to treat me like a number (rather than to have a dedicated person / team consult with me directly to resolve this longstanding issue). I will share my email address privately so that someone can liaise with me about a suitable time / day to discuss. the issue.

Alternatively, please just cancel my contract and refund me for everything I've paid so far. This is the only platform that I've been able to communicate with you on where someone has actually tried to reach me.

Another 4 days and still no reply from Vodacom. If I wasn't losing money every day as a consequence of all of this, I would have just cancelled my contract and walked away. Vodacom team, aren't you embarrassed about service like this?
