LAVAMOBI *****ULANT Charges - VODACOM COMPLICIT

I decided to cancell my contract with Vodacom and move to their prepaid system.

I pay the last installment in May 2017 and then early in June 2017 get a new statement. On the statement is a line item for R272.72 and an invoice number, but but NO attached invoice.

I call their customer care line, and after over 30 minutes get told that the charge is for Value Added Services by LAVAMOBI. I have never heard of LAVAMOBI before. I ask what services they are and the consultant cannot tell me. I ask how I supposedly subscribed to this service and the consultant can't tell me, but says I most probably rep**** to an sms. She gives me the date the subscription started and I find that i had not sent ANY sms' on that date, and had only recieved 3. (None of which was from any LAVAMOBI)

I tell her that I never subscribed, and that they cannot charge me unless they can show proof of a charge. She tells me that she has now unsubscribed me (for a subscription that I never subscribed for in the first place), and that no more charges will accrue. I ask about the R272.72 and she says that they will escalate the complaint, gives me a ref number (1- ********** ********** ) and says that someone will come back to me within 48 hours.

No-one comes back to me of course...

Fast Forward to the 29th June 2017... Vodacom take R272.72 off of my bank account.

I am furious.

I call Vodacom and get told that LAVAMOBI never came back to them.... and yet they still deduct the amount from my bank. I have had to reverse the transaction (at a cost of R17). There is not much the supervisor can do except escalate the matter.

They will look into it and get back to me within 48hours of course....

The call ends with the supervisor telling me I NEED TO CONTACT LAVAMOBI TO GET THEM TO STOP CHARGING ME...

Please note that VODACOM takes a cut of everything that LAVAMOBI makes.... Why should they help their own customers in not paying what amounts to a *****ULANT TRANSACTION!!!!

DO NOT DEAL WITH VODACOM!!!!!

Update:
The Customer Care supervisor gave me a number for LAVAMOBI, and told me to call them for proof of subscription and to make sure they dont bill me again... the number was: 082- ********** . I called the number and got through to...... VODACOM VAS HELPLINE!!!! The lady that answered says that she has nothing to do with LAVAMOBI...
Interesting turn of events.
