Lack of signal for mobile phone: Noordheuwel (Krugersdorp)

In December 2015 I moved to Noordheuwel (Krugersdorp) and have experienced problems with cellphone reception simce I moved into the house. I complained on numerous occasions and the last formal complaint to Vodacom was on 5 November 2016.

NOTHING has been done. Nobody has even contacted me to fix the problem.

I regularly follow up by speaking to a consultant at Vodacom's Key West branch and they keep on telling me that there is nothing wrong with my handset and that it is a technical problem at Vodacom. In December 2016 the Key West branch told me that the Vodacom tower in my area must be rebooted but I cannot request that Vodacom does it. The Vodacom technical team will do it when they deem fit to do so.

I am at the stage where I have no other option but to look at cancelling my Vodacom account and seek another mobile alternative. Whenever my friends visit me, they have no signal problems and they have MTN and Telkom Mobile as service providers.

I have been a Vodacom client for many years and have generally been happy with their service.

Can you please assist me in that Vodacom fixes their signal in Noordheuwel (Krugersdorp)? Due to the fact that I only have a mobile phone and that there is no signal to receive calls, I suggest that they send a technical specialist to my home address (4 Kathleen Street, Noordgeuwel, Krugersdorp) during normal working hours.

Thank you.

Johan Victor

Reviewer Update

Dear Vodacom (and Elroy)

Thank you so much for contacting me and for arranging that a Vodacom Representative paid a site visit on 13 January 2017.

During the visit he established that there was NO signal present in my house and he promisedt hat he would return to the site on Monday (unfortunately he did not state which Monday) to deliver some Vodacom equipment that would ensure that I have a Vodacom signal in my house. At the installation time I would have to sign a document stating that the equipment remains the property of Vodacom.

Please, could you follow up with this person (unfortunately he did not leave a business card nor a contact email nor contact telephonie number)?

It is becoming an embarrasment that I have a mobile handset AND I am paying for a service that I cannot use.

Johan Victor
