Lack of service from Vodacom -SA's biggest Network ??
On January 26, I called Vodacom about my uncapped LTE line since my internet was sluggish and I was falling off zoom calls. This has a negative influence on my work because I work from home and I can't keep falling behind as the workshop's host and facilitator. The consultant synced my connection and instructed me to turn off the router and swich it on after two hours because it now had no internet connectivity. After 2 hours, I called because I still couldn't connect to the internet. The consultant then logged a call to a technician when I stated that my job was at stake. She told me that technicians work around the clock and that they will call me back, but no one did. Before my meeting on January 27, I phoned the call centre, and a new consultant advised me to wait 48 hours because this is their technician turnaround time. Out of panic I then escalated this call to the team leader Tholakele, who also attempted to assist and informed me that technicians had contacted the router number and received no answer. She sent another email to the technicians, this time with a red flag. On the 28th, Tholakele called to see whether a technician had reached me. Her call gave me hope, and I waited all day, but no one phoned. On January 29, I took a day off and took the router to my local Vodacom store, where they reluctantly tested it and it connected, and I returned home ecstatic. When I arrived, I connected, but there was still no service. I called the call centre and the consultant advised me to wait since technicians were working on my issue. After all, it said "in process." I elevated it to another team leader, Boitumelo. I'd want to thank her for suggesting that I move the router to a different room and check if it connects. Nothing happened when I tried. She informed me that technicians will complete my case by the 31st and that they had phoned the router number for the second time after leaving my contact information. Out of desperation, I disconnected the call and moved the router to different rooms, where I found the signal was picking up. I then relocated it to the room where it was most strongest, and my technical problem was resolved. Today is Sunday, I am yet to hear from their technicians. Maybe if they had phoned, I might have resolved this issue sooner and saved money on airtime and stress. Never expect a Vodacom technician to call; they only call routers. I am yet to see a router respond to a phone call?. I am dissatisfied with the lack of haste and blatant disregard for the consumers' concerns. This service costs R899 each month, and I expect honesty and efficiency. Is this what they by dubbing themselves as SA's best network. They never honour any of their promises. I asked them to debit my account on the last day of the month but they debited me on the 19th.
