Lack of remorse from Vodacom staff after my grieving mother went and enquired about his late son's contract

My brother passed away earlier in the year. He was single with no kids, so this made my retired mother the official executor for all my brothers stuff. My brother had a contract with Vodacom for an iPhone and iPad. My mother visited Vodacom in SouthGate where she cancelled the contract as my brother had passed away. My mother was then told to pay an amount of close R37000 as cancelling the contract would mean she would need to raise this amount.

She was told to come in 7 days after my brother had passes away then they would have been able to help. My issue is how practical is this for a grieving pensioner who has just lost his son to walk in at a mall and cancel this contract.

My elderly mother is stressed with this amount she has to pay, she is still grieving and this is really disturbing her.

Is there anyway we can assist with this. I am appalled on the lack of remorse Vodacom staff showed towards my grieving mother

Thank you. Lerato ********** / **********
