Just cancelled my number after 20 years of using it

Vodacom cancelled my cellphone number after 20 plus years, and they just say their is nothing they can do to reactivate it. I always use my whatsapp to make calls. But because I did not recharge on data they decided that I am not using that number. I am very disappointed in VODACOM
