Just another problem as usual with Vodacom Fibre.
I logged a fault with Vodacom in regards to my Fibre line that keeps on dropping packet data and as a result, I cannot stream, download or do any online gaming. I logged the ticket on Sunday 10/11/2018 with a very unhelpful call center agent. He advised that he will reset my port and I should test the line. I advised him to hold the line as I reboot the router and test the line, still the problem continued. At this point he was sick and tired of me and advised that it will take about 30 min to see any difference in the line (As i work for a Fibre ISP myself i knew this was a bull**** response just to drop the call).
Called in on Monday morning, and requested something to be done. Short story is that nothing was done. Called in again on Monday at about 4pm and finally got through to a competent staff member that logged the issue for me (SR181 ********** 41).
Called in Tuesday for an update and the women I spoke to really did not care what so ever. I requested from her what the average TAT is for a ticket and a response, she refused to give me an answer and advised me that I must just wait until I am contacted. At this point, I am really starting to lose my **** as i cannot get any resolution. The weekend is coming up again and my internet is still ****ed.
Called again on Wednesday and spoke to somebody that actually cares. He advised that the system is offline and that at the moment he cannot do much but they will contact me as soon as the system is up and running. He called me back after 30 min and just requested that i do a tracert and ping test on my line.
I have sent through the tracert and ping test and here we are.
Its been 5 days of ****ty internet, 5 days of constant calling and no response from Vodacom (exactly the same experience every time I have an issue).
The horrible thing here is that our estate was stupid enough to actually pick Vodacom to do the infrastructure and allow them to have complete control as an ISP. We cant even gain access to our routers for some reason that they dont want to disclose. What kind of ISP blocks users from accessing their own routers? I want the settings used on your router so i can use my own router that i have control over! Why not open up your infrastructure and allow proper ISP's to connect clients. You guys are monopolising on the fact that you are extremely expensive and and have full control. Why does anyone have to wait days on end to have a problem sorted out? As usual i should just pay for a broken service and your call center cannot even give me any ETA. Do you want me to switch over to Rain LTE?
