Just another ad service complaint.
I wrote a review 10 May 2021 regarding the lack of service from Vodacom. It is now 18 May , I have been dealing with, Thato Makoti in the CEO's team, I get responses to confirm they have received my emails and that they have asked the Fibre team to attend to it urgently. Friday 14 May, a technician by the name of Ndo came to our house to configure the settings our our new rooter and advised everything was in order , the line needed to be commissioned and that he had logged a call for this. He advised we would be up and running in two hours but would call us after 3 hours to confirm everything was in order . He didn't call and to be honest I shouldn't be surprised because that's the level of service consistent with Vodacom , a lot of talk and no action. I called Martin Phillips who is the manager that was being very helpful up to this point, I confirmed we still were not active at around 6:45p Friday night, he looked into a few things and advised he would call me back in a few minutes; he didn't and now I can't get hold of him. Saturday I emailed Thato Makoti in the CEO's team and was advised " I've asked the fibre team to attend to this urgently" Yesterday morning 17 May, I call into the support team and spoke to Sarah Nkwa****, she advised that Ndo DID NOT actually log a request for the line to be commissioned so she proceeded to log the call herself. In the afternoon, I received a call from the escalations desk Mohau Kekana as a result of Thato's request from the CEO's office. He advised me that a member from the connectivity team would be calling me after his call to get us connected.... by now, you all know the outcome to that... no call received! I've made another call to the support team this morning , request is still in progress with another request for escalation.
I left MTN because I heard from everyone that was on Vodacom that Vodacom is always on the ball. The sad part is that these days, customer service means nothing, not like it did 15 - 20 years ago, back then people realized the value of keeping customers happy but today, big corporates don't care if you walk away and go to another SP, they forget that if they had no customers they wouldn't even have a business to run but because the number of people on there books are so high, a few customers leaving here and there just doesn't bother them. If I however I was a VIP , or CEO of my own big corporate, I would have been assisted immediately because as a society we place more value on people with status then on the man / woman depending on SP's to keep them connected so they can earn an honest living and put food on the table for their families.
