It's impossible to port a number from CellC to Vodacom!

I used to be a CellC customer and decided two months ago to rather take a new Vodacom contract (with a phone). But it's now impossible to port my CellC number to this new number. For two months I tried to get hold of the porting deprtment but they were closed for Covid apparently. I have now tried Vodacom stores, the telephonic porting department, customer care and they all tell me it's impossible to port my old CellC number to this new contract. It just doesn't sound like the year 2020 when you speak to any Vodacom employee!

Still deeply disappointed. Following my complaint, a mr Mahali from Vodacom reached out to me. However, this only served to make matters worse. He doesn't know how to listen and had absolutely no intent to try and solve my problem. He kept on repeating himself and kept on interrupting me to repeat himself. It was clear from the fist minute that he didn't call to listen and try help. Their idea of customer care (keep on repeating yourself until the customer gives up) is very different to mine (listen to the customer and at last TRY to solve his/her problem). I will warn everyone I know about this because I'm truly disappointed that no-one at this big company is willing to try and help.

This issue was finally resolved. After weeks of struggling, I was finally connected to a Vodacom employee called Lennon Samduth. He was the first person truly interested in helping me. (Vodacom's systems were clearly not set up to deal with the lockdown situation and its pecu****ities). He was helpful from the start, was interested in solving the problem even though it was not standard and was able to sort it all out in the end. Vodacom needs more employees like him, I fear it has become a big organisation with people only being able to fulfill their own narrow roles as opposed to focus on clients and needs. Thanks Lennon, you're a standout, a problem-solver and by far the best person at Vodacom I spoke to (and I spoke to MANY).
