It's easier to support ***** than to serve law abiding citizens

A new low in customer service. I've had a long and storied ordeal with Vodacom whose actions over the last year have indicated that some of their staff collude with **********. Knowing that they support and enable ******** activity, I shouldn't have been surprised when I walked into the outlet at Bedford centre (Sachar Mobile) to buy a prepaid phone and was pointedly and actively ignored for nearly 15 minutes before I walked out. The 4 staff members in the store were busy with customers but notably actually kept their heads down and refused to acknowledge any of the customers milling around waiting for attention. The consultation booth that I waited at showed me just how difficult the job is that Vodacom staff have when the lady behind the counter found herself completely perplexed by having to provide the one person ahead of me with a new SIM card. This same person was visibly struggling, typing with one finger then having to keep correcting herself, wasting even more time. This is in stark contrast to Vodashop at Trade Route mall who wasted no time at all in issuing a high-end handset, a new number and a data contract to someone from a different race group that had a **** ID book and that looks nothing at all like someone that would have my name and surname. Then of course there were the staff at Vodacom's collections department, that mysteriously took 3 months to action the instructions from the investigation by the ***** department, which was concluded in 2 days. And then Vodacom handed me over to attorneys because they owed me money... At least that last part got sorted out after a HelloPeter post. I'm not sure if it's part of the training that staff at Vodacom's outlets are given, to demonstrably ignore customers, but it's telling when they have no trouble issuing ********** contracts. Bottom line: Vodacom staff ignore customers unless it appears to be someone they're colluding with.
