Is this how you thank "loyal" customers?

Complaint 1: Last year I received a call from one of you sales agents, to advise that as a “valued Vodacom customer” I was being offered this amazing deal of 5gb of data for R199. I see that currently all customers are being offered 5gb day and night owl – so clearly, I am not such a “valued customer”. (reference for the call 1- ********** 52559). I am being ********** with this.

Complaint 2: I ran out of data a few weeks ago, quite early in the month. I tried to reload on “MyVodacom” without success. I phoned your call centre (10 April at around 10h30), and no one could help me. I then completed a “call me back” – and to date I have not yet received the courtesy of a call back.

I contacted your call centre again on the 26th of April. After 20 minutes, I hung up being extremely frustrated. I spoke to a lady by the name of Thando – she advised that she can give me a 5 gb for R399. I advised that the website is offering 5gb for R289 – she advised that she could not give me this offer. She advised that there has been a problem on the website and I cannot make the purchase. There has been a problem with the website since last month – and she does not know how long it will be off for. Surely if there is an issue with your website and I need to call the call centre, I should get the benefit of that price? Thando insisted she could not help me.

Spoke to Nomawethu (Thando’s manager) who was extremely unhelpful. After arguing with me about the price I am seeing on the website she advised that I must e-mail a screen shot to ********** I asked her when they will come back to me – and I was advised it depends how busy they are. Then I said to her, can I not e-mail her the detail – no, she does not get –mails from external customers, only internal e-mails. So I asked if she cannot ask the e-mail team to expedite my request – no she cannot. After 20 minutes I am just even more frustrated. On the same date, I sent a mail to ********** No response there.

Where is the focus on the customer experience here? I want the price that I see on your website – surely I am entitled to this? Why should I be penalized due to your website not working? Is this how you reward your so called “loyal customers”. Really. My mobile contract is due to expire in the next few months. After being ********** the data, and this experience, I will not renew ANYTHING with Vodacom. Neither will my husband and close family. My husband's mobile phone was ****** last week. He was charged R70 for a new sim card. He purchased one from Cell C two stores down and bought a Cell C sim card for R1. What a disgrace.

I am still waiting for Vodacom to actually call me about this. I suppose that is why they say in "due course". They dont even know how long it will take them to contact you. Due course for Vodacom means anything from 1 week to a year. Clearly they are not thankful for making them aware of the complaint. It is just a standard response that everybody gets to shut them up.
