Is there anybody at Vodacom who can help me out?

Pls let me know which department or person can help me.

End July 2016, I upgraded my Vodacom 3G modem to a Wi-Fi router (the contract is for 2GB per month at R109). I 'carried over' unused data from my previous contract and had between 6-8GB available for 30 days.in September I got a whopping bill for R4947.53!

I went to the nearest Vodacom shop (the Glen) and asked if I could please see my itemised billing' (I wanted to see exactly how they got to that amount). I was told to go to another branch in Alberton-apparently a Customer Services branch.

I went there a few days later and was told to "phone Customer Services" .......really!?

I am hard of hearing (can't lip read on the phone), so my sister phoned for me and after trying to sort it out, she was told that unless they speak to me, they can't help me. My sister told them I cannot communicate verbally on the phone because of my hearing problem. That made no difference to them - "sorry they wouldn't be able to help me." Smashing Customer Services!

I then went to the branch at the Mall of the South and asked for help because I was getting nowhere. The Vodacom employee tried to explain to Customer Services that the reason he was phoning for me is because of my inability to hear on the phone.

After hearing (for the second or third time) that I have a hearing difficulty, we were told that we would have to contact the Special Needs Department.

So the branch manager, who once again had to relay the whole story to another person was then told that they need a signed handwritten letter by me confirming my request for the itemised billing as well as a copy of my ID to obtain a reference number. I took that to the shop later that week.

About a week or two later we were still waiting for any news from the powers that be.

I went back to the branch and the branch manager phoned to see what (if anything) was happening. When she

phoned for me she had to speak in her best 'white lady accent' (pretending to be me), I laughed and asked her why? She said if they find out that she works at a Vodacom shop, they will just put the phone down because they shop should be the ones helping me. Really?!

What ensued was repeated trips to the branch and repeated calls by the branch manager to the Special Needs Department (by that time, the branch manager was getting very frustrated with the lack of assistance she was receiving from all departments at Vodacom). The branch manager was eventually told they need to speak to me to ask security questions-kinda defeats my need for the Special Needs Department, but anyway. Quick thinking from an employee in the branch suggested they ask him the questions, then he would ask me and I would answer the question verbally-so they could hear it was really me. Sorted.....I thought. It was then relayed to me that I had to get a hand written and signed letter to the Special Needs Department informing them that it really was me, the customer, who wanted the itemised billing-why anyone else would want to see my itemised billing is beyond me? I took the letter and the required copy of my ID to the branch a few days later. The next month, I got the invoice.....for R1552 43! I was still waiting for the itemised billing and was still being overcharged. I went back to the branch, which by that time I had visited more than 10 times. I told them I think what is happening is that it's as if I don't have the 2GB available (the data that is paid for in the contract), because I get charged from day 1 and not only if/when I go over the 2GB. That resulted in more phone calls from the branch to more unhelpful departments.

I have been trying to sort this out for 7 months now and Vodacom now owe me in excess of R6,000. Could someone /anyone please tell me what else I can do because I, and every branch I've been to, do not have a clue how to sort this out.

Thanks

Tobi Harper

********** (sms only pls)

********** (Vodacom Wi-Fi router)
