Is there any competent person within Vodacom that would be able to assist me?
The bank account my debit order goes off every month was hacked by someone in London so I cancelled the account. My monthly amount owed to Vodacom then bounced back and I received a phone call to say that my cellphone number is now inactive till I pay the outstanding amount. (Yes, my fault for not notify Vodacom immediately)
On the 2nd of March I went into the Canal Walk Vodacom store to pay the amount. I gave them my cellphone number and they told me I needed to pay R600.00. I asked them to please double check the amount as I was told over the phone that the amount was much higher. 3 consultants checked the computer with my cellphone number and told me no that this was the correct amount. I then paid the R600.00 and was told the number would be reactivated within 24hrs.
24hrs later the phone number was still inactive. I then phoned the Vodacom "help line" on 3 different occasions and was asked a whole bunch of questions and said that the problem would be resolved.
On the 12th of the month, 10 days later I decided to go into the Vodacom store (N1 City) to find out what was going on. The consultant told me that I have not paid any amount into the account. Long story short the amount paid on the 2nd was paid into the wrong account by the staff at the Canal Walk store so my money was now sitting in an incorrect account.
She then told me that the amount I paid was incorrect and that I still owed R700.00. I then paid the R700.00 and was told that I need to email the proof of payment (The one from the 2nd of March) to an email address that will be sent to me and my number will be reactivated within 2 - 4 hrs.
When I got home I checked my phone and there was no SMS to say where I should send the proof of payment.
I then again phoned the "help line" (For the 4th time) and was given the email address. I then sent the proof of payment off and was then told the phone number would be activated in 2 - 4 hrs.
4 hrs later and the phone number was still inactive. I then waited a day, checked again, same problem. I then phoned the "help line" again (5th time) and I was then told that they cant find the email and I need to resend it with a reference number. The operator also said that he has put through a case to explain to who ever what the issue was so that it could be resolved. So I sent the email and of course a day later the phone was still inactive.
Today I went back into the N1 City store (For the 3rd time) and explained the story again to the consultant. She then phoned the "help line" (6th time) explained what was going on and the accounts department said there was no comments or notes of what was going on and nothing had been edited or resolved.
I am sure you can guess what happened next?
The consultant spoke to the lady who then told me to send the proof of payment to her email address, which i sent while still in the store. She then sent it to the accounts department and told me to turn my phone on and off in 3 hrs and the problem would be resolved. Of course the number is still not working after waiting 3 hours and restarting my phone.
For such a large company to have almost 30 000 1 star ratings and only 2500 5 star ratings with an average rating on 2.2 on Hello Peter surely tells you something?
I have never in my entire life experienced such incompetence from a "service provider". I have been a loyal customer and have never paid a day late! If this issue is not resolved within 24hrs I will be taking my business to another service provider.
