Is that even legal?

I don't need to write much, everyone know the story, Vodacom is simply increasing the subscription on both my contracts. I emailed them yesterday saying that if I don't hear from them within 24 hours I am reporting this on Hellopeter and I will also seek assistance from the Ombudsman.
So,

Dear Vodacom
With petrol going up astronomically and market conditions as they are, it has become necessary for me to lower my Vodacom subscription. On 1 May 2015 you will only be able to debit my account for a maximum of R 450.00, so that I can still make the calls I need and sms what I need without worrying about costs (which is breach of contract I know, but since you don't seem to honour contracts I thought you won't mind).

I would like to thank you for your support (albeit it non existent at times. Point in case, the last 24 hours) and assure you that I will continue to pay what I feel comfortable with (which is why I took out the contract that I did) and not a cent more.

For more information on the lowering of my subscription you may contact me.

Regards
Jacques Prince
