Is it Frogfoot or Vodacom *****ing up fibre?
My Fibre in Gordons Bay has been down for two days now - I logged a support request on the app with no response and eventually spoke to a consultant who advised me that Frogfoot had issues and would restore it during the course of the day. This is not the first time this is happening.
I also pay for 100MB/S but mostly get between 1/3rd and 2/3rds of that and often I need to reboot for the internet to work. I'm sick of fighting to get this to where I expect it. As most users do, I just suffer through it knowing I am in a 3rd world country.
I don't just use my internet for entertainment but I work remotely full time. This is impacting my productivity and my ability to conduct meetings, often with high-profile clients in Europe. I need to connect with my phone which is driving up my data bill even more - thankfully I know it won't go to Vodacom.
Is Frogfoot a reliable supplier for Vodacom? Surely infrastructure should not be so monolithic that some ****** cables would disrupt a whole city? I'm seriously considering alternatives even though it will mean I need to pay more and I am sure more and more people are going to get fed up.
I work from home and this is not acceptable.
Frogfoot needs to plan its outages better and have redundancies in place in case of emergencies or Vodacom should boot them.
If Vodacom knows they have unreliable partners then they should offer their clients alternative connections for when they are let down, that is if they really care for their customers.
