******ion
I have a contract with Vodacom, and I was informed last month that it expired in April when I was trying to make payment arrangements since I am currently unemployed and my account is in arrears. I requested for them for the option to stop the contract service and be on prepaid while I pay off the arrear amount. I was told to pay R500 and phone again at the beginning of this month. I managed to put together the amount and made the payment. I phoned today and I am told that that option is done once on the contract, I cannot be assisted, and my line will be cut off today. I am also going to be charged the monthly subscription fee if I fail to pay the amount in arrears. Meaning if I can't pay the entire arrear amount, next month I will be charged again, which will add onto the amount that I already owe. Again, my contract has experied, and I can't cancel it because I am in arrears. I am also unemployed. This means if I find work in 2028, the contract and charges will go on until then. I feel like I am being ******ed, and my situation is being taken advantage of. Why was I not informed that the account can only be put on prepaid once when I called last month? I am not happy about Vodacom is conducting its business. I am being held ransom, I just want to pay off whatever arrears I have and cancel the contract. Is there no way I can do that instead of being charged every month for a contract that went over its agreed term?
