So I bought a iPhone 6 in October 2015 and in April 2016 I dropped my phone. I had a screen cover on the screen but the cover shattered and then the fall also broke the screen, I had 2 cracks down the screen.

I spoke to a couple Vodacom's and all of them said I had an insurance on the phone and that the insurance I had would cover the whole phone but I would have to pay R150 as an excess. So I asked if they could send the phone in and all of them said that I had to take the phone to Vodacare in Sandton.

I dropped the phone off on 16/05/2016. They then messaged me the same day to the the phone is ready. The next morning I called in and asked what happened and they said that I did not buy the phone from Vodacom. The lady I spoke to made it seem like I am stupid, and that I actually thought I went to vodacom when I went to MTN. (I bought the phone from Nicolway Vodacom). They then asked for the proof of purchase. I had to call Nicolway and ask them to send it to me so I could send it to Vodacare.

Then 6-7 days later someone called me and told me I had to pay R2209.89 for the repair. I told them that it was crazy for me to have to pay so much, and that the vodacom's I had spoken to said that I would have to pay R150. She said that the screen was badly broken and they had to give me a whole new phone. I told her that I want the screen replaced and that I don't want a new phone.

Then the following week they called back and said that there is nothing they can do. I had to pay the R2209.89. Not knowing any better I agreed to pay for it. The next day I got a message saying my old phone is at the Vodacare in Sandton unrepaired. I then had to start all over again. Send the phone back to advanced repair center and everything.

The next day I spoke to the manager at Nicolway Vodacom and he told me that what Vodacare is saying is a bunch of **** and that I should not have to pay more that R150.

It then took about another 6-7 days, where no one had messaged me or called me, so I called Vodacare and they said that my phone is ready.

When I arrived I called the Insurance Company for Vodacom and they said that I had to pay this amount and there was nothing that they could do for me.

I find this absolutely rediculous. That even though I had insurance I still had to pay more than what the excess was.

I also published a review on Hellopeter on Monday and someone had wrote that someone will get back to me that evening. It is now Thursday and no one has gotten back to me. It is absolutely amazing the service they offer. I will not be recommending them to anyone.

Again, I had to pay R2209.89 when I was told the maximum I would have to pay is R150.

Thank you,

Khalil Keshavjee
