Insurance on ****** phone of no use.............

My phone was sadly ****** - filled in the forms, got the case number and submitted it to the Vodacom store. Turns out I only have cover to the value of 11 600. I am unable to get the same Samsung S6 Edge because it has been discontinued. So have the options of an S4/S5 - also discontinued. I have been catorgized for an S7, of which I am expected to pay an excess amount of +- R2500.00

I am also due for an upgrade in July - however, I dont see the need for the insurance if the excess amount is this high. I have not claimed on the insurance, this will be the first, however, it is clearly pointless if you can only offer me a portion of the value of the phone. I would rather stick it out till July, without a phone, and cancel with your company and go elsewhere. Your competitors offer cheapter contracts for the same phones anyway.

Even for a cheaper LG phone, the excess is R1950.00?

I refuse to pay for excess. Unless you can rather give me the same phone I had, which was the Samsung S6 - there should in essence then be no excess payable, because you are replacing what I had ******.

Nealy 2 weeks and nowhere close to resolution or a phone. I was contacted and it was suggested to contact Cellucity - which I did. Sadly, the answer shall remain. You pay insurance for a reason, however, somehow with you it is impossible. It doesnt even cover the cost of the phone you have. There is no payout option either. Even if I do opt to take a cheaper phone, which is worth less than the amount I have available - the excess amount shall remain? What happens to the balance of the funds I dont use should ultimitley be used for my new phone?

Your attempts at good customer service is pathetic. It's your rules and nothing else. I am forced to stay in contract until November.. if I upgrade early, I must also pay, for the new phone, as well as the hardware cost for the 2nd phone until the contract comes to end. Where do you actually meet a customer halfway. The phone I want I am unable to get because it has miracously been discontued... from and S4 to and S6 - and the same when enquiring about a Samung note.

It seems to be all about the money......Quite dissapointing actually......
