Insurance claim reap off
Hi I called vodacom insurance 2months back and enquire about the laptop claim procedure.I was told to go back to the place I bought my laptop (vodacom shop at westgate mall). I went to the vodacom shop and I was told by technician that Acer is dealing with the repairs or replacements, it's not one of their product. I called the number given by technician with booklet and I googled the address hence I could not get hold of Acer on weekends. I finally ask my husband to go directly to Acer in Midrand and paid R235(or R232) and quote was received from Acer on the 30-10-2017. On the 31st I called the Vodacom insureance number and I was sent the form to complete and today I got a call to request the IMEI number of modem.I called back to provide the number and I was told by Nicole to pay access fee of R200 to Acer directly to speed up the repair so I can have my laptop back. I was not told about Acer being the private company , I was not told to which repair shop Cellsure works with so if cellsure have its own repair shop why was I sent to Vodacom shop? I have been paying the insurance since 2013/14 and basically it means I have to pay almost R440 for the laptop to be fixed and why must I pay access fee when I have already paid to get quote. Secondly I was told that the process is long if I pay cellsure insurance than paying access and repairs directly to Acer.Cellsure insurance will re-imburse me all the money on quote once I resent extra documents. Why was I paying insurance if I still have to pay for repairs then get the money later if it was lost it means I have to go look for the ***** or buy new one before I get the money? The R200 access fee and the whole quote to repair should be paid by cellsure not me hence I have paid Acer to test the problem. It's non of my business if the Cellsure is not working with Acer or not so I need to be called immediately before I pay the R200 and an answer about the money already paid to Acer.
