Inflated and Unexplained Bill + Contract Close-off, number port
My 24 month cellphone contract with Vodacom expired at the end of April. At the beginning of April I was contacted by a consultant from Vodacom call centre, asking whether I would like to upgrade. I said yes, but that I would like to change the structure of my contract (more data and less minutes). The consultant then advised me to go into a Vodacom store after the 15th of April, and that they will then assist me with making a decision.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to go into a store until this weekend (which falls into May) but I didn't think it an issue as I know from past experience that once a contract's 24 months comes to an end providers continue the contract on a month by month basis, at the same rate.
Last week my phone got completely cut off - I am now only able to receive incoming calls, and I have no data connection or the ability to call out. When I realised this on the 25th of April, I app**** online for an upgrade on my contract. To date I have not received any feedback from Vodacom regarding my online application for an upgrade. Out of desperation I have now subscribed to a different provider for a 24 month contract, but they are unable to get my number ported from Vodacom. I suspect the reason is that Vodacom has added an amount of R5800 to my account for usage during May! Which is insane seeing as I am unable to do anything with my phone - can't make calls or access the internet. And this in addition to a bill of R7000 which was debited off my bank account at the end of April. There is no way on earth that I could have used data and minutes to the amount of R7000 as I have access to unlimited wifi at the office and home, as well as use to have over a 1000 anytime minutes on my account, seeing as my contract provided for 750 minutes a month and I hardly ever used these.
I urgently need someone to assist me to get my account closed up, my number reported, and refunded for the inflated bill of April. Of course also get the R5800 currently invoiced against my account for May, removed.
