Inefficient customer care

I have had a contract with Vodacom since 2015. Two months before my contract lapsed, I was contacted by phone and asked if I wanted to upgrade. I initially agreed and I was offered a free Vodacom tablet with R200 airtime to be loaded monthly on my phone. Withing two days I decided I did not want to upgrade, opting to convert my phone to a Pay-as-you-Go option. I contacted Vodacom so that they would not deliver the tablet. But two days later, they came to deliver and i informed the delivery guy through phone that I was not interested and I did not ownership of that tablet. When I logged to MyVodacom, a few days later I saw that it still reflected that I upgraded and that my next upgrade date was 2019. Whenever Vodacom people called me, I informed them that I did not upgrade and the upgrade should be cancelled.

On 19-07-2017, I called Vodacom Cancellations and I was refered to different divisions (Vodacom Online, Upgrade departmment, back to Online) as no-one was able to assist me. I stayed on the phone for almost 30 minutes, and being cut-off and calling again. The last person to attend to my call raised a querhours, I should contact the customer care again. When they wanted me to rate their service I gave them a ZERO, for their inefficiency and being unable to resolve the matter. I was immediately called by a lady, as a reaction to the low rating who then indicated that I have to get an affidavit to confirm that I did not do an upgrade and send it together with a copy of my ID. M

My biggest issue is that Vodacom should be able to investigate and find that they do not have any signed documentation acknowledging receipt of that tablet from the delivery people. I feel aggrieved by Vodacom in the way they are handling the matter.
