Incredibly pathetic service from Vodacom

As my cell phone contract had once again reached the end of term, I visited the local Vodacom outlet in order to perform an upgrade. Sadly, as not one of the local Vodacom outlets could supply the phone I wanted, they suggested I visit the Game Store in Cape Gate to do the upgrade. Which I then did.

The upgrade documentation was then completed and submitted to Vadacom on 23 August 2016. As I was not using all of the voice minutes and data with my previous contract, my new contract was in fact a ‘downgrade’ to a smaller/lighter package, going from uChoose Smart S to uChoose Smart XS.

Sadly however, when my Vodacom bill arrived, I discovered that I was still being billed for my previous more expensive package. Questioning this with Vodacom, I was politely sent back to Game with the excuse that Game was tardy in submitting the documentation to Vodacom.

Not wishing to make a fuss, I simply ignored the problem, but when I received my bill at the end of September and saw that I was AGAIN still being billed for my previous more expensive package, I promptly visited Game Store to find out why.

Game Store have now provided me with DOCUMENTED PROOF that the documentation was submitted to Vodacom on 23 August 2016, PLUS THE FACT that Vocacom acknowledged receipt thereof VIA RETURN EMAIL ********** on THE SAME DAY.

The real problem here is the fact that Vodacom [being completely fast asleep], only processed the upgrade on 8 September 2016 [16 DAYS AFTER THEY RECEIVED IT], and for this I have proof also.

Instead of admitting to their mistake and taking corrective action, Vodacom simply chooses to lie about it and try to pass the blame to someone else while the poor customer simply has to continue paying.

As someone who has been loyal to Vodacom for over 15 years, I find this kind of service disgusting and totally unacceptable!
