Increased bills

I took out a 24 month contract in April 2017. In April 2018, Vodacom increased the price of that specific contract giving me 150Mb more data which I didn’t ask for, but I paid the bill anyway. This year my contract should be ending in April, and again they’ve increased the amount, and I shouldn’t be paying for the device any longer. Why then do we sign for 24 months when they increase every 12 months???
