I did a telephonic upgrade and was sold a Samsung A20 phone on the Top-Up Smart PLUS (200 Minutes + 650 Megs of Data etc.) for R299. However I was placed on a Top-Up Smart PLUS XS which is (50 Minutes and 350 Megs) However Vodacom sends absolut;y no confirmations of the the type of contract you have upgraded to in order to validate they 'THEY' have not made a mistake and I only realised the incorrect package allocation much later. Vodacom claims they made a mistake and placed me on the incorrect package and they do not dispute this. NUMEROUS phone calls have led to the following possible resolutions by a MR Jason Naair who claims to be the the 2IC to Sebastian Pillay in what seems to be one of Vodacom's many upgrade call centers. 1) I need to do an upgrade but will not receive the original discounted offer I was sold. 2) I can return the phone and Vodcom will revert my SIM/account back to my previously held Smart +contract.
My Response: Option 1: I am not paying more for a 'Mistake' by Vodacom. Option 2: I spent a couple hours deciding which phone to purchase, migrating my apps and data to the new phone. I have spent over R500 on a Body Glove Holder and protective glass screen. I am now expected to start this whole exercise over. The sheer time wasted to just make contact with the personnel at this call center has been a frustrating experience and the many promised call backs I waited for. I have been a multiple Vodacom contract holder for +15 years.
I don't understand that a corporate company can treat any of their customers in this manner. Neither of the two options are suitable or convenient for me. And they certainly don't seem to care if they lose a customer.
I warn everybody against using these call centers and their so called special offers.
