Incorrect Debt Listing and Request for Resolution
I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding an account that has recently been handed over to a debt collection company (MBD), which I strongly dispute. Approximately 7–8 years ago, I had a 24-month contract with Vodacom. On the 23rd month of my contract, I sent a written notification clearly stating that I would not be renewing or upgrading my contract, and that it should terminate at the end of the 24th month. Despite this, a deduction was made in the 25th month. I immediately contacted Vodacom and, upon request, provided proof of my original cancellation email. After submitting this, I received no further communication or resolution from your side. It is therefore both surprising and concerning that, years later, I am being pursued for an alleged outstanding balance. To my understanding, I do not owe Vodacom anything. If anything, I was incorrectly billed beyond my contract term.I request the following as a matter of urgency: That Vodacom reviews my account history and acknowledges the cancellation notice submitted during the contract period That any incorrect outstanding balance be cleared immediately That my name be removed from the MBD debt collection records That written confirmation of this resolution be provided to me
