Incorrect Billing

About 5 months ago I tried to upgrade one of my contracts online as it was cheaper than the in-store offered contracts. The in-store salesman indicated to me at that stages that there were numerous complaints from customers about the on-line system but I continued hoping that Vodacom might have ironed out the issues. This unfortunately, was not the case, as I experienced a slew of issue that has not been resolved to date.

Firstly, the online system kept on canceling my order without notifying me and I had to re-submit new upgrade request. When I enquired about the ETA none of the agents could tell me and kept on transferring me to different departments but they also could not assist me. I decided to cancel the online order and I received confirmation telephonically that the order was canceled.

I then went to the store (Cellucity) to do the upgrade but they could not process the upgrade as Vodacom's online system did not allow the upgrade on that number. The store contacted Vodacom and they indicated that it will take 24 hours for the number to be available for the upgrade to be processed. After 2 days wait and constant follow-ups the number was still not available to be upgraded. As I needed a handset urgently, I decided to do the upgrade on one of my other numbers.

Two weeks later I received a call from a courier company which wanted to deliver the canceled contract phone to my house. I informed them that I canceled that order and that I will not take receipt of the device and they acknowledge it and indicated that they will return it to Vodacom. That month I got billed for the contract that I canceled and the device I didn't take receipt of. Cellucity logged a call with Vodacom about this and they indicated that the quotation was canceled but not the reversal was not done. I logged a call with Vodacom with reference number 1- ********** 442473 and to-date have not received any feedback.
I also requested that this call be escalated but it seems that this call is lost.
