Incorrect and misleading information in out of bundle SMS notifications

Hi,

I received incorrect and misleading information in your out of bundle SMS notifications. The message read as follows;

"Your Vodacom data bundle on ********** 723 has run out. Out of bundle rates now apply. To buy bundles & save dial *111# or visit the My Vodacom App"

Unfortunately the number that was actually running out of data was my main number and number mentioned above was actually a data sim on my main number. Vodacom's practice is not to give out the number of data sims. So I had no way of knowing that this was actually a data sim on my main number.

I also had trouble logging into the www.vodacom.co.za during this time to see how much data I had left on my bundles. As I knew I was using more data than normal over this period.

So due to incorrect and misleading information in your SMS notifications to me, I have now incurred a HUGE data bill. Something that would have cost me R700 if you looked at my data bundle purchasing pattern over the period is now costing me north of R7500! Which can only be described as ********* ******ion of customers! Blatantly show no respect for consumer protection.

Surely this is absolutely absurd! In the almost 20 years I have had my contract with Vodacom this is the first such incident and I am sure if all the forfeited minutes, SMSes and data over the period would be more than sufficient to cover the cost.

This cannot be seen as good business practice!

Please advise how we can move forward with this issue.

Regards,

Wouter
