Inconvinient truth of VODACOM sim swop services
It is with the feeling of utmost disappointment and disbelieve I have to lay down the facts related to the very disappointing service VODACOM had rendered towards myself today (2 March , 2018). Having had fallen victim to a ******* Friday the 30th , with the inconvenient truth of having my phone forcefully taken by ****s , I followed procedure to notify Vodacom services about the inconvenience of my ordeal and have them block my SIM and number. Having had taken the liberty in visiting the Vodacom branch in Woodlands Pretoria East, in order to obtain a new SIM pack and request SIM swop, I was instructed to request the ban on my reported number to be lifted ,by myself in order for the SIM swop o take effect. Having had dialed the 082(111) number , the consultant request me to answer a set of 5 security questions in order to reinstate my reported number. I found it odd as I was a prepaid Vodacom customer and never had set up any security question prior that would relate to me personally/ After having had answered the question to the best of my ability, I was told that I had failed some questions and therefore my request to reinstate my blocked number was revoked. It was apparent that I had failed to answer questions related to additional services that Vodacom had offered on call more points. • How was I request to know WHO the last 5 contacts I had contacted ? • How was my knowledge on any promotional content Vodacom had on offer , considered a security question related to my effort to unban my reported blocked number ? I expressed my utter disbelieve that my failure to answer a security question that was related to promotional content VODACOM had on offer be of any merit other that any related question that could well relate to myself personally and that I was a prepaid customer, and had no contract with Vodacom. Having had experienced the ordeal of having had my phone taken, I was not pleased to be notified I was unable to revive my number in order to the convenience of any of my previous contact to be able to phone me again. I was instructed to return to the Voda shop at Woodlands , after having had paid for a SIM to apply the SIM swop. I was told that due me being a prepaid customer, I had less the need to verify security clearance to reinstate my number other than contract customers that had the convenience to set security questions that was related to them personally. The supervisor took it upon himself to clear the possible misunderstandings and request my number be unbanned in order to apply SIM swop. I was forced to accept the outcome, that my number still was not to be reinstated , due to my security checkout. I was forced to buy another SIM pack,(AGAIN!)accept the inconvenience with apology. • What be the use of RICA , with all my credentials linked to my ID confirmed , in shop , I’m still being denied to utilize the SIM swop services on offer? • Why was none of the clearance of the security checks not related to my ID , next of kin , address , pre set security questions set for my use as owner of the number ? • Why had I need to clear security checks in the first place if this was never related to being a prepaid customer ? • Why am I rendered UNABLE to swop my old number via the SIM swop option of service on offer? • Why was I not requested my previous PUK as proof I was the rightful owner ? • I only had the use of another phone from a friend to dial the customer care help line in order to block my ****** number , had there been any misunderstanding related to that ? • What insurance do I have the the level of competence related to the customer care assistance are in par with the expectations as the number I had dialed from related to contract user had not been mistaken for my pre-paid number ? • Upon paying for my new SIM card , supposed activation in store , I requested in addition, paid for R30 worth of airtime to be loaded , only upon arriving home , noticed I had ZERO balance in my *111# reply . Why is that ? I’m utterly disappointed in the way this was handled from start! I was rendered unable to complete my anticipated SIM swop , never had set security clearance on my pre-paid number , was further môre dumped with the utter inconvenience of being unable to salvage my contacts lost , was ill instructed on my ways going forward , simply told to accept my new number or obtain a affidavit on the request. I’m stuck with the inconvenience of having NO means of utilizing my old number ! Thanks VODACOM for rendering my request in utter dismay , for furthering my inconveniences for the remainder of the weekend , having had rendered me to pay for two SIM packs , request my airtime to be loaded , yet I have absolutely no means of utilizing it! Very , very disappointed and inconvenienced PRE- PAID customer ********** , the number rendered unusable ********** 446 the new number provided to me today Noticed some contacts appeared on my new SIM , which is simply impossible unless the SIM swop was accepted , though I have no notice of SMS received that this was the case.
