*********** Vodacom

I attempted to cancel my Vodacom accounts, through their Cancelations Dept because I am unhappy with their customer service, but was talked into staying by said Dept because the arrogant rep who spent much time telling me he was no 1 offered me more than the Vodacom store could at a better rate. So I foolishly decided to allow them to upgrade my data package but not my phone so I could reserve judgement on their service. Well am I glad I did, what terrible service and complete bungling has ensued. I now cannot use either my data nor my phone. The 'no 1' rep has made a complete messup for me which has now cost me time, money and my sanity. He transposed the numbers and "upgraded" my phone line to a data line. For 4 days now I am unable to phone or message, to make matters worse the 3 gigs of data I was supposed to receive on the data package doesn't even work. I have made 9 lengthy calls to resolve this in the last 3 days and have been promised on 7 occassions that I will be called back with the response. Of these 7 promises only 1 did as promised and yet still no result because the call failed and they didnt call back. The manager of the cancelations dept also promised a call but didn't honour it. I had to call back and left a message and an email was sent to him requesting urgent feedback to me yet not surprisingly still no call back as promised. As a director of sales I am losing not only money but credibility and reputation too. Vodacom however dont care when I explain this because that is exactly their work ethic. Why rush to get your phone working, you'll obviously just have to call someone? The technical department / customer care is so poor that for the first 2 days the asked me to reset the phone, turn it on and off and reset my sim numerous times. The could not even identify the fault. The cancellation dept can't even get their own back office to respond to their enquiries, why should I expect them to respond to me. This is absolutely unacceptable but unfortunately appears to be rampant in business today, there must be a viable alternative and I am now endeavouring to find it elsewhere.
