*********** / ****ed up my upgrade order
On Wed, 30/01/2019 I visited the Voda store in Promenade M/Plain and was assisted by a very unhelpful lady... I was advised that the Huawei P20 Lite was out of stock but she didn't even go and check at the back. Anything could have changed since she last checked. Anyway, when asked whether it could be ordered and I could come back on the day it'll be available, she said if they order, it will sell out fast again. *** does that even mean, when you're ordering a device for a specific customer, requesting a damn upgrade? YOU KEEP IT FOR SAID CUSTOMER! Anyway, I then told her it is fine, I will do the upgrade online because it is in stock online and it is also free to do the upgrade, to which she argued and said no I shouldn't do it online, I should come to the store with the required documents and a R158 for an upgrade fee to which I called BULL**** because my sister recently did an upgrade and wasn't charged for it. Also online it clearly gives me the pros of doing it online and it being FREE was one of it.
Anyway, I left the store and did the upgrade the same day, using my Vodacom APP. It was successful and I received SMS notification thereof. I was told that I'd be contacted by a Vodacom representative to confirm everything. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. Same day, I received a SMS saying my order has been invoiced and the package was on its way to the couriers. Same day, I received another SMS that the couriers received the order and it'll be delivered in 72 working hours. The following day, 31/01/2019, they attempted delivery but failed as I missed the call. My bad. I then communicated with RAM couriers via Facebook and was told they'd attempt again on Monday 04/01/2019, however, this never happened. I then queried this again with RAM and they called me and we arranged for delivery for the next day and I was promised I'd be called 30-60 mins in advance. THIS DID HAPPEN(good one to RAM).
So I received my package today at around 2PM. The box was closed and so were the packages inside(Handset device and Bluetooth Earphones). However, when I opened it, the package was missing something very important, the damn CHARGING CABLE! Like how do you expect me to charge my damn phone?! I received the Bluetooth headset, earphones for the device, the SIM card, the pin to open the device and the charging adapter BUT NO USB Cable to actually use the damn thing.
I then communicated with Vodacom because I was discussing the ins and outs of how to do the upgrade a week before I did it and they said if I need help, I could write to them... I got no response from Vodacom, via both the post, which we were communicating on, nor via inbox.
At 18:18, I received a SMS from Vodacom confirming delivery and a number to call should I have any queries related to my delivery. I called this number ********** at 18:43 and was assisted by a very friendly service consultant by the name of Hope.
I explained everything to Hope and her response was "Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about that. We will have to arrange for collection and you'll have to redo the upgrade" I remained calm because it isn't her fault and I guess she's just doing her job. But the workaround and turnaround times she provided thereafter, totally annoyed me and well, now I am here.
She continued to explain that she will have to arrange for collection within 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS. Thereafter, I should contact them(Why tf should I be calling you guys for a **** you made?!) again in 4 BUSINESS DAYS and request for cancellation of the upgrade. Once this is done, I should call again after 7 BUSINESS iness DAYS (Again, why should I call you guys for a **** up you made?!) and request for a new upgrade. Anyway, she completed some form requesting all of this to be done. Blah blah blah!
Here's the problem I have. THIS IS AN INCONVENIENCE FOR ME. I AM 40 WEEKS PREGNANT, ABOUT TO BE DAMN OVERDUE, I DON'T NEED EXTRA STRESS IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW. MY HUSBAND DOESN'T HAVE A PHONE TO COMMUNICATE WITH ME SHOULD ANYTHING HAPPEN WHILE I'M OUT OR ALONE AT HOME WHEN HE ISN'T HERE. (I was going to give him my old device to use and I'd take the new one) Another thing, I received another SMS informing me that my new Vodacom contract price plan will take effect on 2019-02-27. SO YOU PLAN TO BE CHARGING ME, BILLING ME, INVOICING ME, DEBITING MY ****** ACCOUNT FOR A DEVICE I CANNOT USE? I WON'T HAVE IN MY POSSESSION? I'D BE ****ING DAMNED!
If this is going to take as long as Hope explained, I do not want it anymore and I want the contract cancelled on the relevant contract end date, which I believe is some time in April.
I've been a satisfied Vodacom customer and always praise you to friends and family but this, this is pathetic service.
