*********** Call Center Agent unable to provide clarity.

Good day,

Please assist.

I have a cell phone contract with Vodacom for R399 pm and cell phone insurance for R139 pm.

However, on June 26, an amount of R641.12 was debited from my Savings account.

I viewed my invoice on the Vodacom APP and saw the following charges:

Comp Cell Ins R90.46

uChoose 199 Line Rental R174.56

Comp Cell Ins R121.93

VAT R78.73

Handset Installment R175.44

I contacted Vodacom on 082111 AT 12:03: 56 today and was assisted by Amokelali(calls herself Amo). This lady was not very informative and did not provide any clarity at all.

The reason for my call was not to complain or go off at an agent, as I myself, work at a Call Centre and know how clients go off at us.

However, she did not seem to understand my concern and instead referred me to a Vodacom store, where I purchased the device. To which I explained that I did not purchase the device at any store, it was online and I do not have any time to visit a damn store as I work 6 days a week.

So now I am logging this complaint, so someone can provide me with clarity.

According to my knowledge and my contract, my monthly installment is R399. This is inclusive of everything: airtime and handset.

Now I've got insurance which according to my knowledge and Vodacom, who emailed this confirmation to me ********** I will be paying an amount of R139 per month.

Which totals to R538 per month. Correct? Hmm, then why was R641.12 debited this month?

Then insurance is calculated twice for R90.46 and R121.93. Amokelali explained that the R90.46 was charged to my account for the day that I activated the insurance. Alright, that makes sense. What does not make sense is that R121.93 was then charged for this months insurance. Why? This is not the agreed amount. And the calculations does not add up to what my contract states and what the invoice states.

If what Amokelali explained with regards to the reason for the two insurance debits is correct, then the amount that was to be debited should be R628.46 (R399(for my device and airtime) + R139(Insurance) + R90.46(When insurance was activated)Correct?)

If all of the above is incorrect, please send me a detailed ********** OR ********** clarifying all the charges and why none of this was conveyed to me, or explained to me.

Thank you.

Kind regards
