*********** and inconsistence in payment updates to reflect.
I was recently hijacked/kidnapped and held hostage while a large ransom amount was demanded. They cleared out my accounts and luckily was apprehended in time with me in the vehicle.
All my accounts were frozen and hence could not pay this month's Vodacom instalment on time. I called Vodacom to block my sim but was told that due to my account being in arrears, they could not block my sim (again, I was hijacked and my phone held by the *********, yet Vodacom simply refused to block the sim due to a legitimate late payment of 10 days). Yesterday morning, after my bank accounts were re-opened I paid the outstanding amount via EFT, like I do every month and two hours later went to Vodacom Cresta to initiate a sim swap, but was told that they could not do one as the payment hasn't cleared on their system. I was told this should take between 1-4hours max. I walked around the mall for about an hour and a half and went to the other Vodacom store in Cresta (I happened to walk past) and was told it still hasn't cleared (four hours later). This morning I noticed on my profile it STILL showed my account in arrears around 7:57am and called Vodacom Subscriber collections to be told that it will take another 24 hours for the payment to reflect, explaining what the two stores told me had little effect. A called again to be told it should clear 1-2hours later...again waiting patiently, yet nothing. AT 11:41 I called again and was told by the agent she could see it was escalated previously, but no notes were made. Again it was promised it would take 1-2hours for the payment to update and I could go again with the sim swap. It is now 29 hours after payment was made, several calls and with several conflicting times and I am still unable to do a sim swap due to the incompetence of Vodacom and its staff.
I am still waiting...I am done with FNB!
