Incompetence unboundless

On 14 July 2016 I telephonically purchased an upgrade on my number.

In terms of the agreement the following has been purchased:

Handset Samsung Galaxy S7 flat
Samsung Tab Lite 3

Contract details – uChoose flexi 750

In terms of the Agreement I would receive an amount of R750 airtime, 10gigs data once off and 500mb x 24 months on the S7 and 250mb x 24 months on the Tab from 1 August 2016.

The commencement date has been agreed from 1 August 2016.

Initially, Vodacom failed to deliver a sim card for the tablet, which I only received on 1 August 2016. I also never received the top dog voucher.

In addition, Vodacom charged me an amount of R1980,57 for the S7 device which also I never agreed to.

On 1 August 2016 Vodacom failed and/or refused to credit my account with the R750 airtime 10gigs data once off and 500mb x 24 months on the S7 and 250mb x 24 months on the Tab due to an error by their sales clerk, Zimsi, who incorrectly loaded the commence date as 1 September.

This has severely prejudiced me as now my Agreement will run for 24 months from 1 September 2016 – 31 August 2018 as oppose to 1 August 2016 – 31 July 2018, resulting in me being “chained” to the service provider for an additional month.

I have escalated the matter and demanded specific performance, alternatively I wish to exercise my common law right to cancel the oral agreement. They have not been able to assist me and refuse my demand to discuss the matter with a manager.

Following my numerous complaints, only an amount ZAR 1 600,00 has been credited and not the whole amount. In addition I have been penalised and incurred various amounts on my account which no one can explain.

I have also been charged an amount of ZAR 599,99 for the once off 10 gig which was suppose to be free, and have to date not received the 500mb or 250mb on either device.

Never ever purchase an upgrade or contract via Vodacom's telephonic sales consultants. Their incompetence is staggering and disgusting.
