Incompetence of monopolies
Monopolies are so bad for business, companies like Vodacom, MTN, Multichoice (Zerochoice) have a total disregard for their customers because they're printing money while consumers have no choice. It is proven across the globe that a free / open market environment is good for all. Companies that are protected and subsidised by the state effectively prevent many competent economic actors from participating in these markets.

With 47.8 million customers and net profit of R14-billion, surely Vodacom could invest a tad more on customer service. How can a company like Vodacom survive in a free market environment, especially in today's highly competitive business environment.

Whilst everyone is fighting for new business, Vodacom sits comfortably enjoying a money feast, *****ing from its customers, charging exorbitant rates and overcharging many unsuspecting customers without them ever checking their bills. How many incidents have been reported recently where Vodacom has falsely charged customers. How many of these customers ever realise that they have been overcharged. Imagine if Vodacom overcharges every client R1, this is an easy R47-million. Don't imagine because this is happening ???
