Incompetence from Vodacom

For a long time now I've been struggeling with an "Adult content block" on my account. Where it comes from I dont know. If it only stayed at that, I wouldnt have had a problem with that.

But it blocks simple websites such as Computicket, Bid or Buy, Edgars, Fairprice (furniture store), etc. Even on Vodacoms OWN website if I select PERSONAL to manage my own account I get blocked. The message I repeatedly get is ACCESS DENIED. Websites where I download movies or series also gets blocked. This is getting very frustrating as I only have my phone's data to use as hotspot. Normal interesting topics to read that are links from Facebook also gets blocked.

NOW.

I've contacted Vodacom on numerous occassions and have totally lost it with them now.

First they tell you to send in your ID via email to the customercare email address, what I did, and a few days later the block was taken off. No problem. But a week later the block is back on again. Numerous times I asked again for it to be removed, and now suddenly it needs a face to face interaction. I must go to the customer centre. I went to the customer centre in Centurion mall. First the guy there struggled to remove the block and phoned in to the main customer centre. Then he told me after an hour it would be sorted out. It wasnt. Numerous times again I contacted the call centre and told them that why do they tell me it's face to face interaction when previously they removed the block after I send my ID. Even on emails I get the same message.

To top this: On Wednesday 28 December 2016 @ 8:15 I got a message saying " Your query has been escalated to a support specialist. Your ref number is 1- ********** 684390. Visit www.vodacom.co.za/help from your PC or cellphone. Thank you Vodacom" (the help website also blocked!)

Same day @ 8:27 I got another message which said "Thank you for your support. Your query with ref number 1- ********** 684390 has been closed. Visist www.vodacom.co.za/help from your PC or cellphone Thank you Vodacom"

NOTHING HAPPENED IN THOSE 13 MINUTES. This was from my last VERY FRUSTRATED email I sent on Christmas day.

Friday 30 December 2016 I went into the Vodacom4me customer centre in the Garden Route Mall in George. He fixed it in 5 minutes. I told him he was my hero for the week. But now seems Vodacom are doing what they want again, because 4 days later and SUDDENLY THE BLOCK IS BACK UP AGAIN.

I'm really fed up with this. Adult content block should be limited to just that. ADULT CONTENT. Not influence 100's of other websites. And like I said, even their own websites I cant access certain pages.

I've lost it completely with them on 1 or 2 calls out of pure frustration. It's quite difficult to do arrangements concerning things like moving etc when your internet is giving problems like this. Ive been a Vodacom client since I can remember. I pay my bill every month. The least they can do is get their act together and sort out the problems on their clients accounts.

My cellphone number is ********** 047

My ID will be available on request if needed.

Thank you

Anzel Potgieter
