Incompetence and ignorance describes Vodacom's Customer Service best
On Friday, 22 March I called Vodacom Customer Service in order to change the credit card details for the monthly debit order regarding my contract after renewal of my credit card. The agent Khaya was absolutely clueless and gave me wrong information (I habe been through this process before and know exactly what needs to be done). Insisting to speak to the supervisor, I ended up talking to Smangele, who did not really know what to do either and read her handbook to me, finally coming to the solution which I suggested at the beginning of the call: A service request needs to be logged with Customer Care in order that they call me back for the details of my new credit card. Smangele then logged the service request and gave me the reference number, telling me that I will receive a call on Monday or Tuesday. Instead of receiving a call from Customer Care, I received an SMS from Adelaide Ramela telling me that the query is resolved and closed. This is more than pathetic, how does Vodacom want to get the details of my new credit card for payment? I will not call in again, as it is just too much waste of time in the waiting line and explaining to staff who does not know what to do. I exspect a call from Vodacom to sort this out before monthend in order for the payment to go through. Please Vodacom, do your homework, thain your staff and give your clients a minimum of service!
