Incompetant Vodacom Deceased Department
My husband passed away suddenly on the 3rd January 2024 and I have been subject to sorting out the accounts, Vodacom, being one of them. I was advised of Vodacom deceased and thought oh, this will be easy. I obtained a form from them, which I duly completed sending a covering e-mail requesting cancellation of my husbands cellphone number but to keep my own cellphone number and my router cell number. Without a phone call and prior to the end of January 2024 I decided to frequent our Hazyview Vodacom Shop and I wish to highly recommend Thabile. I should have gone to her in the first place. Vodacom Deceased on the 30th January 2024 cancelled all three contracts, which were in my husbands name ****oward to me). Thabile contacted Vodacom Deceased on the 31st January only to be told that the case was open and pending and that nothing could be done for a week. During this time I had no connection to the outside world, which distressing coupled with the distress of loosing my husband. After a week I frequented Vodacom Hazyview again and very kindly spoke to Thabile. I must add that this was all during my working hours. Thabile contacted Vodacom Deceased head office again and was told that in order to re-instate my number the person, on the other end of the phone, needed to contact administration to find out if this was possible and that this could take 24 hours. I said I would wait. Thabile kindly opened a new, cheaper and better router sim (at least I had interent) and as she was about to start on a temporary cellphone number for me the phone rang saying it would be possible to re-instate my original number but it would take up to 48 hours. I cancelled the temporary number as this would only confuse all my contacts for 48 hours. I waited. 2 days later Thabile called me to say it had all been done and that my number had been re-instated and she had transferred it into my name and with my new banking details. HALLELUJAH for Thabile. She never gave up and gave me the best service and advice and never once did she forget about me or my dilemma. Thank you Thabile, you deserve an increase or at least a bonus. For Vodacom Deceased I would suggest you close up shop and rely on your very compitant on the ground staff who wen above and beyond to help me. Thank you Philippa Knight
