Inappropriate Retention Agent

Today I had the misfortune of dealing with one of your retention staff at about 10:27. Upon seeing my debit order amount I was surprised that it was more than double what I have been paying for years.

I called the contact centre and a gentleman assisted and transferred the call to retention. I then told the lady on the phone that I wanted to cancel my contract and she wanted to know why. I then told her because my debit order amount doubled and she reiterated what the gentleman has said which was because my discounts had been canceled because my contract ended. I have been with Vodacom on this contract for almost 3 years and it had become a month to month contract last year so I was confused by this sudden cancelation of discounts. But I just left it and said that I want to cancel it. The lady then told me that Vodacom is offering me a 5 gig day and night and 5 gig anytime data. By now I was frustrated and asked why she was telling me this and when did it come into effect. All I wanted to do was cancel me contract. She just kept saying "vodacom is offering you.....". It made no sense why she was telling me this as I hadn't asked for it. She then said I must not shout and that she is calm. I told her I am not shouting I'm trying to understand what she is saying and this I how I talk. She then went through our conversation again and said that I must learn to be polite. I was not shouting, my voice was raised I could have been swearing because you shouldn't just increase charges without providing a reason. I then told her I don't understand why she is telling me about what vodacom is offering me, is she trying to say that they WANT to offer me a new contract to which she said yes. Learn to speak properly so customers don't get confused by unwanted information. Say Vodacom wants to offer you so they understand that this is a NEW offer don't make it seem like it is their current contract . I told her I don't want it. I want to cancel it because Vodacom had not told me in advance that they were more than doubling my contract. She then said "do you not get an invoice or statement". I then said I DO WHICH IS WHY I AM NOW CALLING YOU TO CANCEL!!!!!!! Vodacom, you are impolite. All I wanted to do was cancel a contract. Not hear about you wanting to take more of my money and trying to FORCE me to take another contract and then be condescending saying "do you not get a statement" !!! All I want to do is cancel it. What is so difficult??????? I asked for a reference number to which she said I'd receive an sms or email with the number. Still nothing and considering the service received, I don't think I am going to receive it. Please just cancel the contract, it's all I'm asking for the fourth time.
