Inadequate website

I tried to find Vodacom South Africa’s contract plans and a clear breakdown of services with their costs on the website, but couldn’t. For such a large company, hiding pricing behind phone calls or branch visits is frustrating. Customers shouldn’t have to contact support just to understand basic pricing structures.

Reviewer Update
You closed my ticket because I wouldn't answer calls I never asked for – just publish your pricing online .
I originally wrote this review because Vodacom's website does not show clear pricing for contract and prepaid plans or a breakdown of services and their costs. For a company of this size, that is unacceptable.

I never contacted Vodacom directly. I never asked for a call. I simply posted my frustration here on HelloPeter.

What Vodacom did instead of answering my complaint:

  1. Found my HelloPeter review.
  2. Opened a service ticket without my request.
  3. Tried calling me multiple times (I did not answer because I never asked to be called).

Then came this email from *** (Vodacom Consumer Website Team):

"Dear Ewert

Kindly be advised that we have tried contacting you on 3 occasions without success.

Should you require further assistance do let us know.

Regards

Vodacom Consumer Website Team"

At the same time, I received two SMS messages:

SMS 1 (15:45):

"Dear Ewert I am unable to reach you telephonically regarding your query. Please refer to the email I will send to e*********ail.com. Kind regards, Vodacom Customer Care"
SMS 2 (16:04):

*"Dear Vodacom Customer. Your service ticket with reference number EC-293S-1E9AOT has been closed. Thank you Vodacom."*

Notice what is missing from all of this?

Not once did Vodacom:

  • Acknowledge my original complaint about missing pricing on their website
  • Provide a link to pricing
  • Attach a document with pricing
  • Answer my question in writing

Instead, they:

  • Ignored my actual complaint
  • Tried to force a phone conversation I never agreed to
  • Closed the ticket as if the matter was resolved
