INADEQUATE FACILITIES FOR PAYING ACCOUNTS.

I have been a consumer with Vodacom since its inception. I just find that their complacency is unbelievable. I have never missed a payment in over 20 years. Now that everything is becoming digitised, I have their mobile app and use this where possible. It is not at all user friendly since they updated from the My Vodacom. Most of it is advertising and encouraging you to use all their in house services including Vodapay.

I do not do direct debits, and rather pay via a card of my choice, or go to a facility where I can pay the account.

On 30 June I tried to pay my account on line entering a card number. Only for it to be rejected. I called Vodacom and spoke to 3 people who told me international cards cant be used to make payments even if its Visa or Mastercard. Vodacom must be the only company in SA that will not accept an international global money card to pay accounts. I can use it at Woolworths, Checkers, PicknPay, Dischem, At Home and more. What is Vodacom's issue. I was told by a so called manager Vuyelwa that I cant use my card. I must go to a Vodacom shop. Well, there's another issue. All their shops are in shopping malls and I dont want to have to go to a shopping mall, pay for parking and walk for miles to find the Vodacom shop. So then I decided to drive to Checkers to pay my Vodacom account only to be told by Checkers that the Vodacom pay facility has been out of order for a month. I spent most of Sunday morning trying to pay my account. It is unpaid, and next thing is they will be cutting me off. Its my only form of communication and I am a senior citizen. I cannot get hold of anyone in authority, only a call centre who really dont give a damn about my problem. I WOULD LIKE A RESPONSE FROM VODACOM about this situation, and not a Dear John letter. Frustrated beyond belief.
