Inadequate and ineffective Vodacom customer care process

I’m a Vodacom customer for 15 years. On 7 July 2020 I started a process to upgrade 2 mobile phone contracts currently in my name. Based on the advice of a Vodacom consultant I made use of the Vodacom call centre. A decision I regret. Today, nearly 9 weeks later we have not received any of the mobile devices. During these 9 weeks I had numerous interactions with Vodacom. I have noted the following regarding their process: You don’t receive a reference number when you call; there is no escalation process; you are not allowed to speak to a Manager (promises were made that a Manager will phone back – that never happened); there is no customer care e-mail address where you can voice your concerns. Overall I found the Vodacom customer care process to be totally inadequate and ineffective. While it was my intention to upgrade my own mobile phone contract with Vodacom and to sign-up for Vodacom fibre, I will now look somewhere else.
