Inability to order contract upgrade if phone has been ******

I have been trying to perform an online contract upgrade with Vodacom for the past few days now. It appears to be impossible to do so, as my mobile phone has been ******. Vodacom's procedure hinges on the fact that they will send me an SMS, to which I need to reply "1" to to proceed. Customer care consultant even advised that I do a SIM-swop first so that I can then answer the SMS.

So Vodacom wants me to buy a phone, so that I can use it to buy a phone.

I have spoken to numerous consultants and two supervisors and I am no where closer to being able to order a phone.

Up your game Vodacom - this is not good enough!

I have still not been called by Vodacom support, despite numerous requests for this to be done. my contact details have been forwarded to Ashwin but this does not seem to make a difference.

@Vodacom it appears that the best way for me to resolve this is to move to your opposition, after a period of more than 20 years - do you concur?

@Vodacom is your service SO poor that you do do net even honour Hellopeter complaints anymore? Please note that a automated response and a half-hearted effort to make make contacts does not count as taking my complaint seriously in my book. I have been unsuccessful in getting you to contact me since Thursday last week. I can see that my emails are being read, but there's no action forthcoming

@Vodacom The issue was eventually resolved by Ashwin from the Consumer Website Team. Whatever you are paying him, it is not enough :-)

@Ashwin many thanks for your professionalism and assistance.
